Once your appointment is confirmed, you’ll connect with one of our doctors at the scheduled time, either through a video consultation or a phone call, depending on your choice.

Yes! Our doctors are available to assist you at any time, day or night, with both video and telephone consultations.

Absolutely. Our doctors are fully licensed and registered with the Irish Medical Council. You’ll receive professional care in line with medical standards and ethical guidelines, ensuring your plan is safe and reliable.

We are unable to offer consultations or medical advice to individuals outside the Republic of Ireland. This includes consultations, medical plan, sick notes, and referrals.

Our doctors are based across Ireland and provide care remotely. All are registered with the Irish Medical Council and work according to professional standards.

SmartGP.ie is a 24/7 telehealth service providing online video and phone consultations with licensed General Practitioners across Ireland.

Yes, all our doctors are experienced, licensed General Practitioners registered with the Irish Medical Council (IMC).

Yes, our Video and Phone Doctor services are available nationwide across Ireland.

Depending on your health insurance plan, you may be able to claim back part of the consultation fee. Please check with your health insurer for details.

Yes, is a simple quick and easy process

You only need to enter your name, email, and basic details when booking your appointment through our online system. Once your appointment is confirmed, you will receive an email or SMS with all the consultation details and access link.

Your medical records are kept secure and confidential in accordance with GDPR and data protection regulations.

With your consent, we can send a copy of your medical notes to your regular GP. If you do not have a GP, we can send the notes directly to you for your personal records.

If the Doctor determines that you need further medical care, you may be advised to see your regular GP, attend a specialist, or visit a hospital for an in-person assessment.

If your symptoms suggest a serious or urgent condition, you will be advised to seek immediate medical attention.

If you need to cancel your appointment, please contact us as soon as possible so we can accommodate other patients.

Payments are processed securely through Stripe.

We accept all major debit and credit cards, as well as Apple Pay and other secure digital payment methods supported by Stripe.

All transactions are encrypted and securely processed to protect your payment information.

We take patient feedback and complaints very seriously and aim to resolve any concerns as quickly as possible.

Our service operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, all year round.

Online booking is available from 7:00 AM to 12:00 AM (midnight).

Yes. If medically appropriate, our doctors will give you a medical plan during the appointment. Likewise, a sick certificate can be issued if the doctor deems it necessary. All treatments and documents are strictly subject to the doctor’s clinical discretion.

Yes. A medical certificate may be issued if the doctor considers it medically appropriate. Please note the following conditions:

  • Duration: Certificates are issued for a maximum of 5 days (at the doctor’s discretion).

  • No Backdating: We do not issue backdated certificates.

  • No Guarantees: Paying for a consultation does not guarantee a certificate. Fees are non-refundable regardless of the outcome.

  • Usage: These certificates are for employer use only and cannot be submitted to the Department of Social Protection.
